Telephone Purchases
Telephone sets (Meridian Business Sets and single line sets) and all telecom peripheral equipment such as, Audio Conferencing Units, Head Sets, Centrex Terminal Adapters, and line cords have also been made available to members of the University of Toronto at significant savings through our preferred vendor - Smart IP- at negotiated, reduced prices. Departments are responsible for issuing orders to Smart IP. Delivery should be scheduled to coordinate with service order cutovers. Individual departments are billed directly and are responsible for their own debt.

Customer returns
- For all customer returns, the customer is to contact the Customer Support Centre (CSC) at 1-877-342-6405 and obtain an RMA prior to sending in the goods. If an RMA number is not apparent on the package it will not be accepted for return. The RMA number is valid for 10 days.
- Goods are to be sent to Smart IP Inc. 5525 Eglinton Avenue West, Unit 128, Toronto Ontario, M9C 5K5, with the RMA number clearly noted.
- The goods must be in the original unblemished packaging with all parts, manuals, and packing materials inside. Applicable fees will be applied for any missing components.
- A 25% restocking fee and original freight charges will apply to all returns with the exception of the following:
- a) Out of box failures.
- b) Damaged upon arrival.
- c) Goods shipped in error by Smart IP.
- d) Goods being returned due to the a), b) or c) above must be returned promptly within 10 days upon receipt of goods for the return to be valid.
- Shipping labels must not be affixed to the manufacturer’s original packaging. Shipping is to be paid by the customer with the exception of 4 a), b) and c) above.
Customer repairs
- Goods valued at under $50 will not be repaired.
- For all customer repairs, the customer is to contact the Customer Support Centre (CSC) at 1-877-342-6405 and obtain an RMA prior to sending in the goods.
- The CSC will advise the customer of the repair charge that will be charged, if the goods are out of warranty, or the evaluation charge if not repairable.
- Goods are to be sent to Smart IP Inc. 5525 Eglinton Avenue West, Unit 128, Toronto Ontario, M9C 5K5, with the RMA number clearly noted.
- Shipping is to be paid by the customer.
- If repairable, the goods shall be returned to the customer and invoiced accordingly.
- In all cases a minimum repair charge of $100 shall apply. Repair of a Display is an extra charge, depending on the type involved.
- If the goods are not repairable, the customer will be advised and an evaluation fee shall apply, and invoiced accordingly. Evaluation charges are $75 for the first item and $50 per each additional item.
- Repairs for more than 10 items shall require a quote from Smart IP.
- Warranty on repaired goods shall be 30 days.
- Repair prices are subject to change without notice.
