Window washing
The Property Management team coordinates window washing for buildings on the St. George campus. Work is done by our contracted partner. Window washing typically occurs once a year from spring to fall and is weather-dependent.
How we wash windows
Buildings 3 storeys and under
- Cleaners work from the ground using water‑fed poles to reach upper windows.
Buildings 4 storeys and higher
- Depending on the building, cleaners may use swing stages, bosun chairs or rope access.
- For these methods, suspension lines are attached to roof anchors so crews can move safely down the building’s façade.
- Roof anchors are certified annually before the window‑washing season begins.
When we wash windows each year
Window washing typically starts in spring and continues into fall. Because cleaning is weather‑dependent (especially wind), timelines may shift to maintain safety for crews and pedestrians. The published start dates are estimates.
