Notice of project

What is being done?

Urbacon is installing a New Nitrogen (N2) Feed to the Lash Miller Building, which involves shutting down the Nitrogen Gas. This work is part of P073-20-026: Lash Miller Expansion.

Please refer to page 2 of Urbacon’s MOP #22R4.1 (URB MOP #22R4.1), which includes real-site photos highlighting the following elements:

  • New Nitrogen (N₂) Line
  • Existing N₂ Line
  • Tie-In Point
  • New N₂ Meter
  • Existing N₂ Line to be reworked in the Loading Dock to avoid the HTHW tie-in
  • Purge Point on new line between Tie in and New Meter.
  • Purge Point on Existing Line between Tie in and existing meter.

Additionally, page 4 of Combined Air’s MOP (80 St. George – Nitrogen Shut Down MOP – Signed) identifies the Purge Point location using real-site photos. He has also marked the following:

  • Location for the installation of the Pressure Gauge
  • Main Nitrogen isolation valve, located outside within the cage

How will it impact building occupants?

  • The space will be under the control of Urbacon and Combined Air for the duration of the work.
  • Building access to the affected areas will be limited or restricted for safety. Occupants will have a path of travel in Corridor 33K and adjacent work areas.
  • This work will produce fumes and odors from the Scheduled Hot Work that will take place.
  • Every effort will be made to keep the noise and disruption to a minimum.
  • Any asbestos work, electrical shutdown, and mechanical service alerts, if required, will be issued separately.
  • Dust will be controlled, and floors will be HEPA vacuumed and wet mopped after the shift to prevent dust from travelling to nearby dust sensitive areas.
