Get to know F&S: Saurabh Mallik
“Me and my colleague Sofia were involved in installing about 1,000 air purifiers in 27 buildings and over 400 classrooms across the St. George campus,” says Saurabh Mallik, property manager with Facilities & Services.
The property manager cites intellectual curiosity and strong support from the F&S team as the driving force behind the success of the large-scale air purification initiative.

“To meet client needs, we have to listen to and learn from all the stakeholders involved, including students, building staff, and faculty,” Mallik says.
He manages six buildings, including the J. Robert S. Prichard Alumni House, the Fields Institute for Research in Math Science, and the School of Continuing Studies.
After completing his master’s degree in analytics, Mallik moved to Canada from Australia in 2020. Now, he is studying business analysis at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies. “I never want to stop learning and growing,” he says.
At F&S, Mallik learns a new thing every day. “No person’s an island here. We have a diverse team that’s always reaching out with suggestions to help you improve your working methodology,” he says.
Mallik is currently working with the Campus Safety team to enhance exterior access control on campus by installing fob-based systems for some buildings, which increases ease of access and security.
In his free time, Mallik plays Minecraft and strums his guitar. On the weekends, he independently studies app development.
“That’s my favourite part of my job at the university, the work-life balance.”
